Gene is from Ontario, California, near Los Angeles. He is currently a PhD candidate in Cultural Studies with a specialization in Museum Studies. He also holds a master’s degree in Ethnomusicology and brings with him extensive experience in archiving and research. Gene has an unwavering dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and social justice and equity are the cornerstones of his professional ideology. One fun fact about Gene is that he has played drums and percussion professionally in Los Angeles for over a decade.
