Sharifah Niles-Lane

Sharifah is an award-winning marketing and communications leader and the Senior Vice President, Head of Enterprise Social Media and Content Strategy at Citizens Financial Group, one of the largest banks in the country. Sharifah brings nearly 20 years of social media, digital, and content marketing experience, and a proven track record of success to the organization. In her current role, Sharifah leads enterprise-wide content strategy, champions innovative marketing tactics, and drives effective execution to elevate and protect the brand’s reputation. Sharifah was named a PR Daily Top Woman in Marketing in 2023.

Before joining Citizens, Sharifah led digital marketing and social media strategy at Eastern Bank, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and John Hancock. She has been recognized with many industry awards for her outstanding work and demonstrated expertise. Over the years, Sharifah has been instrumental in leading strategies and campaigns for many brands and partnerships such as TCS NYC Marathon, Showtime, Universal Music – Decca, The Oprah Winfrey Show’s “No Phone Zone” Campaign, The Boston Marathon, Curious George, and many more.

Sharifah graduated Magna Cum Laude from Newbury College in Brookline, MA, with a BA in Communications. She has a passion for mentorship and community service and currently serves on the board of directors for YW Boston.
