YW Boston Appoints Aba Taylor as Chief Executive Officer

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Aba Taylor as our new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective March 3, 2025.

Aba Taylor brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of nonprofit leadership.  A Boston native, Taylor, who got her undergraduate degree at Columbia University and a Masters in Nonprofit Service, Leadership, and Management from the School of International Training, has most recently held the role of Executive Director at the Brookline Community Foundation. She previously held leadership roles at Astraea Foundation for Justice, the Network for Social Justice, and the Interaction Institute for Social Change.

Board Chair Marguerite Fletcher shared, “After a thorough search process, through which we met several talented candidates, our Board is excited to welcome Aba to YW Boston. Based on her experience and approach, I am confident that she is the right person to lead YW Boston at this time. I am looking forward to working with her.”

Upon accepting the role, Taylor said:

I am deeply honored to be stepping into this role, especially given this moment in history. In my decades of experience in social justice, the work of advancing racial and gender equity has never felt more critical. I am proud to be joining the world’s oldest and largest multiracial women’s organization, and even prouder to be at the helm here in Boston, where it all started. Building on the legacy of intersectional trailblazers like the Combahee River Collective, and in present partnership with YW Boston’s Board, staff and stakeholders, I am inspired and determined to continue our collective work of bending the arc towards justice.”

Aba Taylor replaces Kathryn Henderson, who has served as Interim CEO since June, 2024.

Please join us in welcoming Aba Taylor to YW Boston. We are confident that under her leadership, YW Boston will advance our mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

Help us create a more equitable city
