Hana Lasell
Hana joined YW Boston in April 2023 as Director of Marketing and Communications and is responsible for overseeing marketing and communications efforts at the organization.
Hana has spent her career working with organizations that seek to clear pathways for individuals and communities โ particularly those that are marginalized โ to thrive, including YWCA Central Massachusetts, Corporate Accountability, Worcester State University, the Center for Women and Enterprise, and UMass Memorial Health.
Recognizing that racial justice and civic engagement are closely aligned, Hana has volunteered her time as communications lead for the Massachusetts Women of Color Coalition (MAWOCC) and on the Committee to Elect Jermaine Johnson for school committee. She has also spent time volunteering with YWCA, Cape CARES, United Way, and Girl Scouts. She has served on the Board of Directors for the League of Women Voters of the Worcester Area and North Suffolk Community Services.
Away from the office, Hana is an artist and freelance graphic designer. In 2020, she painted the โMโ in the iconic Black Lives Matter street mural in downtown Worcester, MA, after which she and her fellow artists were awarded keys to the City for their participation in the project. She has shown her work in numerous gallery exhibitions around Central Massachusetts.
Hana was born and raised in Colorado and attended Clark University โ graduating with a degree in English in 2006. She is a proud spouse, mom of two, and nature/animal lover who spends a lot of time fussing with her many, many indoor and outdoor plants.
